In light of distributing the Covid-19 vaccine without any clear and published plan
AMAN strongly warns that continuing with such a policy shall agitate the Palestinian public and cause instability and turmoil
Ramallah- Despite repeated correspondence with the Council of Ministers over the need to develop and publish a distribution plan for Covid-19 vaccines, the available information indicates that several vaccines were given without taking into consideration the principles of priority in distribution to the medical staff, the elderly and the sick, while the competent authorities continue to overlook such violation.
AMAN strongly warns that such a disorganized distribution process, the lack of a clear and published plan, nepotism, giving priority to personal interests over public interests, and apathy towards the serious impact of the pandemic that threatens the Palestinian medical staff, the persons who suffer from chronic diseases and the elderly, shall lead to instability and turmoil.
Hence, AMAN Coalition once again reiterates its call upon the competent authorities, most notably the Council of Ministers, to lead the battle against the pandemic, take the necessary measures to stop the distribution of the vaccines over groups that are not top priority and hold those who facilitate such practices accountable. We acknowledge the difficulties that Palestine is facing to obtain vaccines and the fact that only small amounts are arriving. However, this requires taking measures that guarantee maximizing benefit from any available quantities of vaccines, based on a clear plan made public to all citizens.
