Ramallah - The Coalition for Accountability and Integrity (AMAN) reiterated its request that the Ministry of Health (MoH) make publicly available a plan for the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. The MoH indicated that it had developed the plan in a meeting with civil society organisations last week. AMAN demanded that the plan lay out priorities (persons most in need of vaccination), based on an accurate and comprehensive database of target groups. This will include a list of the number and places of residence of these persons in order to allocate vaccination centres in accordance with the projected schedule.
In its letter to Her Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. May Kileh, AMAN called for promoting transparency measures in planning and distribution processes. Necessary assurances will be provided on adequate oxygen supply at hospitals, favourably impacting public trust and confidence in the procedures and criteria implemented by the MoH and relevant authorities. This comes in the context of ongoing public concerns about vaccine distribution and reports on short oxygen supply at hospitals.
