The security apparatus plays a pivotal role in establishing and stabilising a democratic civil system in any country, and Palestine is no exception to this principle. The Palestinian security sector holds significant importance and is essential for maintaining public order, ensuring security, and upholding the rule of law without any form of discrimination. To fulfil its role effectively and appropriately, the security sector itself must adhere to the principles of the rule of law, be subject to accountability, and operate transparently and with integrity. These practices are fundamental for achieving a gradual transition towards the desired state of law and institutional governance.
